Evacuation
Like any ordinary workday round about 5:45 pm, my colleague was rushing for a paper to be submitted to our Risk Department. I was busy replying emails as I was stuck in a 3-hours conference call prior to that. Another one of my colleague was casually surfing for yahoo news and stumbled across the news on the earthquake in Samoa that triggered a massive tsunami. Some people were packing to head back home. The Group Heads were busy in a meeting.
Life in the office was its usual self.
My colleague who was rushing for the paper ran up to our Risk Department (in 6th floor) just in time for the 6:00pm dateline. When she came down, in a panicky voice she told us to quickly gather our stuff and evacuate the building. We were wondering why, and she told us that the people in 6th floor had evacuated the building.
The building was shaking!
In case you didn't know, let me do a brief recap. End of last year, the retaining wall between the two of our buildings collapsed caused by a major landslide. Cars parked below at the open space parking lot were buried and smashed. Employees evacuated the building with immediate effect for fear that the building will collapse.
I am working in that building now (to the right of the picture)
So, imagine when they said that the building is shaking! We thought that the building is collapsing due to the weak structure and loose soil composition due to the previous landslide. Rushed out, and all of us were standing outside staring at the landslide site, thinking that another landslide will occur, bringing the building down together with it. I sms~ed Bear and my Dad.
Apparently, my Dad said there was a tremor because people were evacuating from buildings in Menara Axis. And it was due to the mega earthquake in Sumatra. It reached a magnitude of 7.9. A tsunami warning was subsequently issued to Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia. The same countries which were affected by the massive tsunami back in December 2004.
Well, the tremor also caused a huge-ass jam everywhere! Siens ... Due to the last landslide, my building's structure is unstable. They may declare tomorrow off. I hope. *fingers cross*
-edit-
Received an SMS at 12:06 am this morning saying that the structural engineer had certified that the buildings are safe. Work shall resume as normal. :(

Hellooo ...Monday .. *sarcastic*
I woke up this morning to a rude surprise!
I was walking towards my car getting to work at 7:45 am this morning - and it is considered early ok! I usually get to my car around 8:00 am. So, happily I hopped into my car thinking that I will be early for workfor once because of the expected good traffic due to the school holidays.
Started the engine. Lepak for a while for the engine to run. Released the handbrake. Pushed to D. Stepped on the accelerator. And then...

KKKKKKKKKRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKkkkkk...
I thought I scrapped the divider at the side. I reversed!
KKKKKKKKKRRRRRRRRrrrraaaaaaaaaaKKKKKKKKKK!!
Uh~oh.
I know I kantoi~ed big time.
Went down and checked and to my horror found this --->
-______________-"
Took only ONE tyre!
Those idiots left the nuts for me as souvenirs. Didn't expect things like this would happened to me wan lo! I know my brother's car kena smashed before (thrice!) and things like this are quite rampant in my area.

T___T
Quickly sms back to office to request for a half day EL. And proceeded to wake my Dad up. He was half asleep ok! Sorry Dad! :p
So, called Praba our mechanic and he fixed the spare tyre for me while he went around searching for a replacement of rims and tyre. And it costs RM600 ok!!!! It is only a Myvi! So expensive! No wonder people curi
Dad reckons that for that price, he might as well go to Klang as it would be much cheaper. Yeah, we went to Kampung Jawa and got it fixed for RM200 only. :)
I hope that my area will set up the gated security thingy soon (expected to be up end of September). These idiots are going around terrorizing my neighborhood! Theft, snatch thief, gangs, break-ins, [insert other social crimes]. It is on the rise and is very worrying.
Today I am gonna park right OUTSIDE my gate!
Thank Jesus for protection over my car! hmmph!
